i have a 1994 caddilac eldorado with northstar engine. the water pump is bad. i removed the upper & lower radiator hoses, air intake box, and the plate covering the pump. disconnected the belt pully and removed the tensioner exposing the pump. my problem now is turning the pump clockwise to remove it and replace with the new pump. the original pump seems to have two bent up slide locks that hold it in place. i put the tool they gave me on it but it doesen't seem to budge it at all. i'm afraid to put too much pressure on it for fear of ringing something off. i did notice that the pump on the car has two slide locks & the one i purchased has a few more . my question is do i have the right tool ( it is made for the new pump & fits it perfically) but doesent seem to fit my original pumps two slide locks? can you help me? thanks, pat munley.
