Question

Battery Voltage

Sent to Car Experts January 21, 2006 3:58 p.m.

I have a 1998 Buick LeSabre Limited (90,600 miles). I had a Kirkland 10 year warranty battery installed April 10, 2003. About two weeks ago I noticed that my voltage gauge was running a little higher than usual... like 13 volts with ignition on and 14.2 volts while idling. My mechanic who does my lube and oil change tells me I need a new battery. However my owner's manual says that between 11 and 15 volts is normal. What do you think?
