Fuel Injection service-Needed?

I have a 96 Nissan Maxima I am being told by some people I need a fuel injection service and I am being told by others I don't. Who should I listen to? Can a regular cleaning fluid(those liquids that you add to the gas tank) be enough? Thank you.
