hi,
I have a 1990 chevy lumina 2.5 L4, and just recently, the engine strarted to get check engine ligt signals, and sluggish after it warms up.
A few days later, the engine broke down and had a chinkaling rattling noise, and did not start up!, so i took it home and tried to trobleshoot.
At first, i replaced the map sensor, the spark plugs, and the fuel pump and relay, but still no luck!
After that i tried the oxygen sensor.... still no start, so i removed the plug from the map sensor, and it started. After about 5 minutes it dies. the car will not start with the sensor pluged up! but when it does run it has low power! All plugs fire, and all cylnders have good compression. the car has 201,000 miles to the engine. please any ideas?

Reply to Dan's Post: it still had the same problem, so i relaced the alternator, and it runs better, but only when the baro map sensor is unpluged! the vaccum hose gives different responce when pluged and unpluged. The engine check light i off when the map sensor is pluged up, but it does not start with out pressing the accelarator pedal, and youhave to keep givin it gas or it will cutt off!
