You likely have a bad connection at one of the battery cables or a burnt fusable link down at the starter. Remove the battery cables annd clean the with some baking soda and water if they're corroded.

Is there a reset button anywhere that could have been tripped somehow.
I also noticed in the last month or so that it has been harder to start. I have had to pump the gas pedal and sometimes hold it down to get it to start. Why with a fuel injected engine?

No, no reset. The long cranking issue would have nothing to do with what's happening now.

What your telling me doesn't add up. If the cables are clean and you jump the car, at least the accesssories will work, if not everything. If you have no headlights or anything, you have a cable or battery problem.

I will go check again but wouldn't a bad cable give some indication that it would short out or flicker at sometime. Everything worked well last night.

Look in the main underhood relay center for a 50A fuse that could be burnt out. Check all of them if you can.

Thank you and God that it was indeed dirty battery cables. I took them off and washed them with baking soda and it started ok. Now if it will do that for me again in a minute.
Can you tell me why I have to pump the pedal to start it?
