grand marq elec door locks and auto lights come on and

2000 grand marq. elec door locks and auto lights come on and off for no reason. sometimes the car is not on and this kills the battery. replaced old battery. help!

I have seen this before. Take your drivers side inside door panel off and find the plug that goes to the keypad on the outside of the door. Unplug this plug and close the door to see if the lights come on and or the locks cycle. The keypad gets water in it and shorts it out causing the lights to go on and off and possible the door locks to cycle. Ford has updated this part so it does not happen in the future. The keypad has the ability to lock and unlock the doors and also operate the lights. If water is shorting out the wires the module can do all sorts of wierd things.
