i have a honda civic it makes a loud sloshbing noise when

I have a 2003 Honda Civic. It makes a loud sloshbing noise when the car is in motion. I t seems to be coming from the rear of the car. We have never heard this happen before. Could it be gas in the gas tank. If so, is it unsafe?
