There could be many,many things wrong, it would be near impossible to tell without having the car scanned for codes.Code or codes will relate to individual parts or engine functions.This will allow repair or replacement of the part or parts that is giving you the check engine signal.You can purchase a scan tool at your local auto parts or get them to scan the car for you.They will usually do that for free or just a few bucks.It is necessary for repair.
