I have a 2000 Daewoo Leganza with 94000 miles and it has been hesitating a bit after stepping on the gas from a complete stop. I have already changed the transmission fluid, fuel filter, changed the oil and filter and even upgraded the grade of gas that I use with not much luck. All services has been performed on time for this vehicle. What could the problem be?

Thanks,
JV

Hello JV
I don't know this car or engine well but I do have some advice based on your good description of the problem. If this vehicle is equipped with the traditional ignition cap and rotor that could be your problem. The weak link in the ignition system for most 4 cylinder cars is the cap and rotor. Years ago the ignition points would become pitted which resulted in poor starting and running. The cap and rotor have now become the weak point, the electrode fires across each contact of the cap and after time it becomes burnt and worn, resulting in poor performance. Once you renew the cap and rotor the engine runs great and fuel mileage picks up as well. If this vehicle is not equipped with a cap and rotor, please let me know. If it is, open the cap and inspect the contacts, you'll see if they're burnt just by looking. Good Luck!
Dan

I found out that this car has coil packs. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
