All of a sudden my 1993 Maxima has started to have the ...

All of a sudden my 1993 Maxima has started to have the interior dash lights, radio and air controls dim and radio quit while the car idols, when I step on the gas, lights come back on and radio lights up and begins to play - Is this the altinator?
