How dificult is it to replace the cam sensor on a 2.2 ...

How difficult is it to replace the cam sensor on a 2.2 GMC and where is it located on the block??
Could a bad cam sensor be causing the motor to bog down??

Year and model of the car would be very helpful to know. A cam sensor starting to fail might create a barely viable signal that could contribute to a problem.

I blieve it's on the backside of the block near the valve cover, No it shouldn't bog down
