I am trying to remove the pulley on the harmoncic balancer....how does is come off?

There is usually a center bolt that holds it on the crankshaft keyway. Depending on the kind of car you have and engine size, they require the use of a harmonic balancer puller. They are cheap or you can rent one at most parts stores when you leave a deposit. Good idea to replace the crank seal if you remove the pulley and inspect the pulley and keyway for wear.

this is what i'm having trouble with is steps 7-9 as that is the pulley i'm trying to replace. however this will not turn

I don't have to go beyond step 9 as ...as what you call it ...the crankshaft pulley is what i need to replace.
