Question

what are possible problems of too much oil?

Sent to Car Experts October 03, 2005 11:18 a.m.

My car is a 2001 Ford Focus with 66,000 miles on it. The engine was perfectly clean before my last oil change in July and I did drive it mostly in Aug. since I was gone on vacation in July. Then last week, about 1 week before the next oil change was due, my check engine light came on. I then discovered that the oil was overfilled about an inch or more on the dipstick. Oil was all around the engine too.
