1991 Honda Accord - cranked fine , hit and quit - was running fine but now it won't turn over , just sits and clicks ..... also the battery light stays on even when the key is taken out . The only way to make the battery light go out is to disconnect the cable , seems to have started after an attempt to jump start the car .

ACCEPTED Check Mark

The battery light staying on is an indication of a bad diode in the alternator. You will need to replace the alternator.
