start fuel air

I have a 2 barrel CM rochester carburetor and would like to know how many turns of the air and fuel screws (as a start) I should go when tuning the carb.

there are many rochester carbs i start at 1 1/2 turns and adjust from there

should both screws be turned to 1 1/2? If so which should I adjust first and how far?

set both out 1 1/2 turns out start car these only adjust idle mixture what year car? computer controlled?

its a 1965 C-20 pickup with a 283

wow really i just rebuilt eng and carb on a 65 impala same eng and carb turn it out 1 1/2 turns set idle and slowly turn both screws in or out same amout till best idle is acheived then turn each one in till each screw lowers rpm about 25 rpm so if you lightly put hand over carb it will slightly raise the rpm witch is richening it up slightly they run best at idle just slightly lean
