Question

2000 Mustang GT Idle

Sent to Car Experts September 10, 2005 5:25 p.m.

I have a 2000 Mustang GT Convertible. When the motor is cold and I try to crank the car, the motor will fire and then immediatley die. It will stay running when the throttle is applied. After several minutes the car warms up and will stay running. Someone mentioned the Idle Air Control Valve. What and where is this? How do I fix it? Thanks

ACCEPTED Check Mark

It is definately the IAC valve if it starts under part throttle. It is located on the upper air intake and is held in place by two 8mm bolts and one electrical, two wire connector.

here is a link for a picture of the valve.
