2000 Mustang Electric Window Repair

Sent to Car Experts September 10, 2005 3:06 p.m.

I need a diagram of 2000 ford mustang electric window mechanism and repair instructions. Window keeps coming off track. It works some of the time but makes a clanging sound when lifting or lowering the window. Sound like one of the rails is out of alignment. This is a problem that occurred within the first 5000 miles when the car was new. Ford replaced the window twice. The car now has 50K miles I took it in to Ford and they wanted to change the window again stating that the guides on the bottom of the glass had come unglued and that they could not be re-glued. They wanted $500 to repair. I said no thanks and took it apart myself. The guides seem to be glued just fine to the glass. The problem seems to be that the guides do not run smoothly on the guides when lifting or lowering the glass. Has anyone run into this issue before?
