Are you referring to the differential bearings or the axle bearings?

i have a loud "road noise" coming from the rear-end of my jeep. i was told it was probably bearings. it's not the tires. i need and estimate for the cost so when i take it to a mechanic, i don't get ripped off because of my own car repair ignorance. if you have an estimate for both, i would greatly appreciate it. thank you.

There are 8 different bearings back there and they are all different sizes and prices along with greatly varying labor times. Is the noise effected by being on or off the throttle or by swerving side to side?

side to side is not effected, to my knowledge. throttle, on the other hand, the noise does get a little louder the faster the jeep goes but there is always a loud road noise like if you had tires with off road tread. it sounds like it comes from the cargo area of the jeep. it does get louder the faster it goes but it's not a severe noticeable difference.
