I have a 1989 Honda Accord EX that has been garages all of its 41K mile life. This car was driven sparingly by a 92 year old lady (really) who loved this car like a family member and only sold it me only because of the following starting problem.
When the car starts it starts with a second. However, when it doesn't start, which happens about 20% of the time, the engines just spins and makes no tones to indicate that it will start. If you let it sit for usually 15 to 20 minutes, it may start right up. The battery is new and very strong, has been tuned up (plugs, wires, all filters) and runes like a top once it starts. This problem is very intermittent. When it won’t start I am usually alone and can’t even check for spark because I need a 2nd person to assist with turning the motor over while I troubleshoot. By the time I get someone to help the 20 minutes is up and car fires right up perfectly. I realize that I can’t put the car in the shop unless it fails but has been doing this for 2 years!!! Help, help, help - plezzzzzzz
