Problem Starting

I have a 1998 Ford Taurus and it is not turning over when I try to start it. A new battery was put in about 8 months ago. I jumped it with my other car today and it started, but after 2-3 hours it was dead again. I could hear a clicking noise near the fuse box next to the brake.
