Honda Mechanical Advice/Transmission

Sent to Car Experts September 01, 2005 8:11 p.m.

What should a rebuilt transmission for a 1999 Honda Accord LX6 cost. I need to get this done as inexpensively as possible since I've purchased a new car for my wife. I'm getting quotes from $2000 - $4000. Naturally, the highest is from the dealer. I tried to build in a negotiating allowance for the new owner to handle the transmission, but buyers don't want to take the chance; therefore, I'll handle and mark the car up to a higher value so I can move it easier. Can anyone help me out with some advice?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

If you can get a rebuilt tranmission for that car for 2 grand run don't walk to the counter and have it done now.Make sure they are providing a warranty in case it doesn't sell.I have rebuilt transmissions where my cost on parts has run that high.
