help please 3.8 mustang

hello i have a mustang 1999 with a 3.8. i took out the cam senser asem. how do u line up the synchronizer. for the cam sensor? i was told i needed a align up tool. can u do it without that? When u put it back the syncro has a gap also it has a 1 tit sticking up in the center. i just need to know how to align it up. if you could send pictures and how to do it i would appreciate it.

If you didn't mark it coming out, your in trouble. It can't be done without the tool unless you have another car with the same engine and bring it up on #1 TDC on the compression stroke and mark the location. That probably still won't be accurate enough. You need the tool.

i didn't mark it because i was switching engine.. do have any picture with it on TDC show the sensor? i have an manual but it does not go into details. it say 1999 and earlier rotate 54 degrees to the right. i need to know where the tit goes when i say tit i mean the vane. the little bar that is sticking up in the under the cam sensor..
