front hydrolic suspension
Sent to Car Experts August 02 12:30 PM

my 1984 500 sel benz (hydrolic suspension on all fours) started to rise in the front one day to it's maximum height and never went down. after releasing some fluid it went down, but upon starting the car it rose right back up. could this be the self leveling suspension valve, or (i don't think so) the accumulators, although the car is rising fine and no noticeable fluid leaks. just that it stays all the way up (even when i let out the fluid and it went down, went right back up after starting car, it also bounces like a basketball when driving (although that's probably from the pressure of being up like that

also where would i locate the suspension valve on the car if thats the problem.

well the bouncing motion of the vehicle clearly says that the shock is @ foult, replace the shock that might stop the automatic leveling on going all the way up.

Reply to DCM's Post: the hydro pump's continuous pumping is what's causing the car to rise in the front which is why i'm leaning toward the self leveling suspension valve which is i think supposed to tell the pump when the car is level and to stop pumping, but wanted more info on the valve itself and the location to find it on the car.
