Problem with traction control

Sent to Car Experts July 02, 2005 9:33 p.m.

My 1998 Lincoln Town Car, has traction control problems, sometimes after I make a exit off a ramp on the interstate, the traction control comes on, and I have to almost come to a stop to dis-engage it. the car will not go over 40 mpg when the traction is engaged. Can you help?

ACCEPTED Check Mark

Codes would have to be checked for a proper repair but if you pull the abs fuse or relay it will most likey solve the symptom. You will end up with an abs and traction control light. Most likely you have a wheel speed sensor malfunction for the abs system causing a false abs operation or false traction control. If this answer has helped you please click on my accept button. If it helped you very much you may leave a bonus if you wish.
