Vents don't work

I have a 97 mercury mountianeer and the air only blows out from the defrost vents. When I switch it to panel or floor it will not switch. The rear air works fine but the front doesn't. There are no fuses blown. What can I do to fix it.

Well you'll need to check behind the front pannel, the air flap switch is controlled by vaccuum, but some other cars it's mechanical. Remove the middle console of the car and all the parts that is blocking the air dock, once you have a complete vission of the plastic air dock, turn on the engine and the fan then switch it in different possition, then see if you have a mechanical or vaccumm control, on mechanical when you move the control you should be able to see which one is not moving, and so with the vaccum only you have to find the disconnected hose and reatached it you make the flaps work again.
