Car door indication

Sent to Car Experts June 07 08:27 PM

I have a 2002 Ford Taurus, just reciently it started giving me a door open indication. All doors are closed. This car doesn't have the plunger switches in the door frame. ANY IDEA?

On that car the door jam switch is built into the latch. They are notorious for sticking and causing problems like that. Here's a trick that usually works. Get a can of WD40 of like penetrating oil with a straw on the nozzel. Spray it up into the latch thoroughly. Now open and close the door numerous times to work it in. Repeat the whole process again. The only thing you won't know is which door is causing it but it is usually the driver's door that does it first. Hope this works for you.
