abused 626

Sent to Car Experts June 07 12:07 AM

02 mazda 626. my "check engine" light has been on since about january (off and on) about two weeks after having a full tune-up. it's overdue for an oil change by 2 months and i drive about 70 miles a day. i know, i know. i shall hang my head in shame. keep focused! ;) lately, when i accelerate, my car hesitates and kind of jerks. two days ago, i went shopping and when i came out to my car and started it, it wouldn't start. the engine kind of kept clicking or rattling. when i called someone to come out and help me (a mechanic), he said it sounded like my starter. then because of protocol, he tried jumping the battery. the car started right up. he said to get the battery checked, but that i should have some time on my hands. payday isn't until friday, so i figured i'd be okay until then. then it stalled on me again today. exact same thing. can you help me?
