all causes of car near almost stalling,cuting out,died twice

I have tried fuel injector cleaners since I bought this 1994 Pontiac Sunbird (4 cylinider)and even tried Heet once as possibble water in gas problem.One place suggested air idle control valve, I wondered maybe a dirty fuel filter(?)
