Question

Issue with my MBZ C320 with Keyless Entry and others Elc.

Sent to Car Experts May 19, 2005 12:48 p.m.

My Keyless entry - Tele Aid(R) on my 2001 MBZ C320 works sometime and does not work some time. I have to click it about 30 times to have the car to unlock and everything to work fine.

If the battery of the remote is new, I suggest you to bring it to the dealer since it's 2001 I believed MBZ Gives you 5 yrs of warranty, and have the sensitivity adjusted a little bit. In the other hand maybe it's just the battery of the remote.

Hi DCM,

THanks for the reply, but maybe I should have explained more on th eoveral issue with my C320.

Here is a description of it:

I bought a 2nd hand MBZ C320 2001. Since the day that I have bought it, to drive the car without any Electrical issue, I have to click the door unlock button on my key about 30 times, before the indicator lights flick on and off to show that the doors are unlocked even if I have the car in my garage and the doors are unlocked anyways.

This way I can switch on the car and the Fan does not stay continuously on, the indicators, Heater, seat controls etc... Work and most importantly, the SRS light goes out, else if I do not do my ritual then nothing works.

I have had my mechanic change the Seat Module unit under the drivers seat.(Damn that was expensive), but that did not help. The funny thing is that before doing that change, he put another seat control module from another MBZ C240 into mine and everything worked fine expect that this particular module would drain the battery which was the issue with the C240, but every other issue that I spoke of above worked with out a hiccup.

So hence, he told me that the seat module was causing the issue and I bought a new one from MBZ and had it replaced.

Now I still have the same issue as above where I have to follow my ritual to drive without an issue?

Can you help with this?

Regards,

Ben

Its possible the new module needs programmed by MB to work properly. The days of just replacing electronic parts to fix a problem are about gone.I can't guarentee it needs programmed but I wouldn't be suprised if it did.Call MB and ask,if they wont tell you I will call them and ask.I'm not afraid to ask and push for an answer.
