Troubleshooting 1989 Cdillac Fleetwood

I have a 1989 Cadillac Fleetwood. It has been running and trying to stall as if it wasn’t getting enough gas. Every now and then the Service Engine Soon lamp will come on but it will go off whenever I stop the engine and start it up again. Today it stopped altogether and will not run for long, the idle is very rough. What could be the problem. I just recently had the fuel filter changed at the latest oil change

You have to have the codes read whenever the check engine or service engine soon light comes on the ECM stores a code.

You can have the codes read free a autozone stores.

Once you have the codes and defenitions you can repair the problem with your engine.If you have a problem figuring out what the codes mean post back and we can give you some advice as to where to start.
