REPLIED Check Mark

Greetings!

If your car is cranking over and is not starting, We will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing.

Spark

Fuel

Compression

All three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the car to start. Fuel pressure is self explanitory. U just hook up the gauge and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. U can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should! Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gauge and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely carefull when doing these tests.

this car is at the dealer right now--with a huge complete scan done on it--I think its an electrical problem, Ive been suggested fuel sender bad, bad connections, computer problems, even plugged exuast system(why that I have no idea except that any of that stuff should show up on a certified cadillac scanner--at least thats what the say it will--

Well the computer may not even be walking up. Did the check engine light come on when the key was turned to the on position?

Would this make sense--could there be a security system glitch, allowing this car to start then not letting it start sometimes--would that show up on the computer scan

is there a way to shut the security system off to see if that bypasses the problem--like pull the fuse on it?

That is a good question. It all depends on how its wired. Some u can, and some u cant. A security system problem may not show a error code. U can try to pull a fuse and see if your car starts. If it does, that u can try leaving it out and see if that helps.

The issue on this car has been resolved--for future knowledge of such a problem--it was a crank sensor malfunction, and it finally did throw the code so as to trace the problem--thanks for your help
