i have a 1994 cadillac deville. My ALB light stays on ...

i have a 1994 cadillac deville. My ALB light stays on almost all of the time.   Is there something I can try to see if it is really the ALB or just a problem with the light   Is it dangerous to drive like this or is it doing more damage?
