(Not a Car Question?)

I have a 1992 Cadillac Brougham with R-12 A/C system.

I have a 1992 Cadillac Brougham with R-12 A/C system. On very hot days after the system runs for a while the compressor disengages at idle and will not engage again without revving the engine or driving over 40. The refrigerant level appears okay. This is a electronic climate control system. Any suggestions? Thanks

Reply to Davo/diablo666's Post: I can't advise immediately as to the readings as I had to borrrow gauges which I already returned. I used a pencil style gauge and it showed the pressure within normal range on low side if that helps (its all I have right now)

I really need high and low pressures to advise you. After you do a staic pressure test we are going to start the car and see where the pressure goes on both sides of the system.

Reply to Davo/diablo666's Post: I will not have manifold gauge until later this week and besides the weather hear is horrible and I have to wait to have better access to the car. I will get in touch (if I can) as soon as I get the readings.
