Hi, welcome to Justanswer.com

I would suspect you have a failure in the transmission. It should be giving you a check engine and or transmission light. Let try to get the fault codes for you car and see. Here is how.

Cadillac BCM and PCM Codes and Diagnostic Procedures

Diagnostics Basic Operation

Step

Action

1

Enter self diagnostics by simultaneously pressing and holding the "OFF" and "WARMER" buttons on the Electronic Climate Control panel until the automatic segment check begins.

2

Malfunction codes are displayed in the following order:

..- ECC current codes ( parameter number -00 )

1..- ECC history codes ( parameter number -00 )

3

To select a specific parameter, press "HI" to increment and "LO" to decrement the parameter number.

4

After the status light display begins, ECC error codes are displayed. PCM codes may be displayed by selection parameter -01 and then pressing the "OUTSIDE TEMP" button.

5

Exit diagnostics by pressing the "AUTO" button

6

Pressing "OUTSIDE TEMP" switches between parameter number and parameter data

7

To over-ride a program number, while in program number display, parameter -11, pressing "WARMER" or "COLDER" will increase or decrease the program number.

After you get them Lets see what they are for before we get any new parts.

hope this helps.______________

The throttle body is the intake for the air. sorry semi- as in sorta dirty that was not very clear. I dont think an older tranny would work well. it would certainly not wire correctly. But I doubt your problem is all tranny. It maybe but I think it was maybe in a safety mode from bad crank sensor. Also you may have some wiring issues in the Power box try removing and checking all the fuses and relays. It showed a lot of faults and that just came to me as a possible source. there is controler for the torque converter also. through fuse box
