Sent to Car Experts January 06 1:36 p.m.

Ref to 93 Cadillac trunk pull down motor: I have new motor, and trying to reassemble it. But I did not notice the switch on the connector between the motor and pull down. Does the switch go up or down? It seems like the only way to reconnect it is if the switch is up, but that did not work. Any thoughts, pictures, or how to reassble the pull down unit with a new motor?

Optional Information:
1993 Cadillac deVille v-8

I took pictures, but they did not show the switch. Tried to find one & articles.

The picture was not the angle I needed. I am dealing with the "Pull Down Unit" as shown in the diagram you sent. The motor is connected to the steel frame, and then a box like electrical unit is between the motor and the unside down "U" piece that pulls the trunk down when the catch on the trunk is latch onto it. The electrical box has a small switch on the side of the "U" pull down. On the "U" pull down are two metal protrutions, one near the top of the "U" and the other half way down. When I connect the electrical box, the design of the unit will not let me place the electical box on the metal plate unles the swich is the top position. But, that does not work as I have tried the motor without screwing it in, and the motor does work. I tried to push down the switch to get it under one of the metal protrutions, and then it always snaps to the bottom of the unit. But, then, the design of the unit will not let me slide the plastic tracks on the brace and the electrical until together as they should be. I don't know if the pull down "U" should be reset, and I don't know how to do that. Anyother suggestions? Thank you very much.
