I have tried adjusting the dimmer switch and it has no effect one way or another. Today I disconnected the switch that manually controls the parking and headlights along with dimming the lights completely. I then started the vehicle and the Radio LED was on, I then placed an object over the sensor that controls the automatic headlights, when the lights came on the radio LED is dim again and you can not see the LED. I am not sure if the instrument panel is working at all at this point. I see a light only when the vehicle lights are off on the area of the instrument that shows which gear the transmission is in, but it does the samething as the radio LED when the lights come on munually or automatically. When this happens in the evening the inside of the vehicle is completely dark. I can use the light switch to manually turn on all other lights in the vehicle like the dome and door lights but it has no effect on the Instrument panel light and the Radio LED which remain off.
