1997 Buick LeSabre VIN K - installed new fuel pump, now ...

1997 Buick LeSabre VIN K - installed new fuel pump, now transmission will not shift - only has reverse, manual second, and third gear. What could have caused this? Would fuel pump cause this to happen??

rechecked fuel pump and is OK.
