I have a 96 buick regal 3800 engine. The harmonic balancer rattles like ball bearings in a can. Do I need special tools to replace it. Can I do the job at home?

You will need a puller and they can be a bear to get off. check with a major parts store like autozone some have a tool lending program other than that its not a bad job.hope this has been helpful Bill
