blower fan not working
Sent to Car Experts October 21 03:23 PM

1993 buick lesabre limited
when i turn on ac or heat or econo mode and set the electonic temp the display shows the fan positions.
problem is that the fan does not come on all the time in any mode. when the fan does come on it will stay on then turn off. can it be a temp sensor? if so is it hard to replace.
thanks john m

My 91 Buick will blow the windshield out with hot/cold air. Find the fan itself under the hood. I think it is in the normal GM spot (passenger side firewall) Take the clippy-thing off and test the fan with some fused jumper wires (i just use wires but the book says to have them fused). Then you will know if your fan works good. It could be that little clippy-thing (on the fan motor) is loose or all gunked up with corrosion. If fan checks ot or if just cleaning that connection doesn't work then the control unit is probably the problem. It is self contained and has to be replaced as a unit.
