Headlights will not go off automatically

The headlights will not go out on our 2000 buick LeSabre. My wife called from a Richmond parking lot. Our daughter was driving and played with the buttons. How do we reset the lights to go off? The lights go on and off automatically and the manual controls are not suppose to be touched; but they were. Can the system be reset? I'm in NC and the girls are in VA.
