Removing the battery cable from a vehicle with electronics on it is very dangerous. You can create a voltage spike and wipe out anything that requires lower voltage to work. You need to install a volt/amp meter on the battery so you can see what the output of the alternator is. Here is a wiring diagram to check out. Make sure the fuses are good that supplies the voltage to the alternator.
