I have a 1988 Buick Reagle Limited, with a transaxel, my question is reguarding the transaxel, when I start from a dead stop the trans will hold and at about 25 or 35 it will shift into a higher gear, as long as I keep the gas pedel pressed, but once I let off the gas then the trans slips into nutral and just reves, if I push down the gas and hold it at a high RPM then the high gear will grab again until I again let off the gas, then back into nutral again, I have noticed that if I keep the gas down until I hit about 45 or 50 and then let up on the gas the trans seems to engage and maintain in gear as long as I dont push down the pedel any futher than about one quarter of an inch or so, but if I push down the pedel any further to try to increase my speed to get up a hill or something any further than that quarter of an inch then its back into nutral and it just reves, then again I have to push the RPM's up to about 3 or 4 thousand before the trans grabs on again, can you tell me what I can do to fix this problem besides haveing the trans rebuilt?
