1990 Buick lesabre Starting problems

I have 1 1990 buick lesabre 3.8. I have had starting problems in cold weather. Cranks & won't start after 2 or 3 attempts it floods. I can usually jump it and clear the flooding by holding pedal to the floor but it takes a lot of cranking. Now it is summer and twice it has cranked slow like a bad battery barely turning over then next time gets nothing when you turn the key no clicking or anything. Towed to repair shop and they said it started fine and they did nothing. dit it again after about a week. Getting frustrated over cold weather starting problem and recent. Car runs great when started and only has 75,000 miles on it. Also when trying to start in cold weather it sometimes has a clunking sound or almost like a back pressure sound when you let off the key/cranking. No one has found the problem and - its been tuned twice and a battery replaced once???
