Sent to Car Experts February 11 05:38 PM

I am working on a 97 Buick Lesabre the problem is not much heat comming out any were when your going down the road it gets fairly warm but when you stop it turns cold. I have put in new head gaskets thermostat and flush the radiator and heater core. upper heater core hose gets warm when idling but lower dosent. guage comes up in temp and fans kick on, so I still think it must be dew to heater core but it flushes through nice and fast. and by the way it has a 3800 series II eng. I have also switched the heater hoses around but didnt make much dif.

Optional Information:
1997 Buick Lesabre 3800

Already Tried:
thermostat, head gaskets, flush heater core and radiator, water pump seems fine

Yep bleed it out , the valve is on top of the thermostat housing then i jacked up the corner of the car that the cap is on so that was by far the highest part of the cooling systen and left it open wile running and no bubbles came out ever and i did this for more than an hour. I also replaced the cap.

Hello Tool man, you may still have a problem with the heater core having a build up of sludge coating the inside of the core. To clean this out, I have filled the core with white vinegar, let it sit in there an hour. Then flush both ways with a garden hose. Try to catch what comes out in a clean bucket to see if any crud come out.If you accept this answer click on GM Plus.Good luck.

I filled it with carb cleaner twice and once with brake cleaner then flushed both ways with water after each and water flowed through real good and clean.Do you know if there is a blend door that could open a little at idle then go back closed when reved up?

The orfice? Do you mean the tube that the heater hose conects to on the heater core?
Can I also get the top vac. diagram recent to me with the shot taken a little lower?
But I also think this one I am working on is the electronic one. It has all push buttons except the fan switch wich is a slide lever.
Do you have a diagram for the electronic one?
It has a pink hose comming in the car that hooks to the others behind the glove box, but those just change the doors from defrost to vent and to floor heat.
