I''m an old mechanic, but I have not had any auto repair experiance for at least 20 years. My question.. I have a 2002 Ford Explorer, The interior light stays on and I get a door ajar warning. My guess is that the door switch is not working.. But where the H... is the door switch?

Removed door panel, door seal and drivers side kick panel

The door switches are in the door latches. They have a 2 wire plug attached to them and take a 1/4 turn to remove. Some of these can be real tight to get to with the latch in place and some even require removing the window guide inside the door closest to the latch to get your hand in there. Here is a picture of what one looks like.
