i am about to have a 1994 Lebaron checked out by my mechanic.The car is in good shape with 80,000 miles onit. The car needs a paint job and a new convertable top. Other then that everything seems to be working.My mechanic has doubts. He is not impressed with the car sight unseen. He says there was alot of problems with this model car. What should I say to him . I like the car.

It has low mileage for a car that age so it may have been taken care of. Is there any service history kept by the owner???I would also check car carefully for any color change inside door openings , in trunk area and underhood.Look for any structure distortion Check all fluid for cleanliness and burnt smells. Also run a Carfax on the car. I would strongly suggest taking car to a mechanic or a pre-sale inspection company for inspection some will include the Carfax report. Otherwise it looks like you are in love with the car and you seem to be aware that money will have to be spent.Good Luck and if you have any questions let me know...also beware if they will not let you take car to have inspected

The car is in aused car lot.
it has been sitting there for a long while. The car started immediately and the airconditioning works perfectly.
I am interested in the reputaion of this particular model. My mechanic without checking it doers not like it. He says it has a history of AUTO TRANSMITION PROBLEMS.hE SEEMS TO BELIEVEthat the car won't last.
ZI have to repaint it and change top.
Butthat is not mechanical. What is the car reputation.
