My car has suddenly started making a loud humming noise. I had the tires looked at, rotated etc...nothing there. I then took it to a transmission shop...nothing there. My engine mechanic recently installed a new 'serpintine' belt?? But he can't figure out what is the source either. Help!!

Hello and welcome. Can you give a little more info on the noise. Is it when the car is moving? does it make the noise when at idle? Is the engine hot or cold? What size v6 engine- 3.4 or 3.8? any more info will be helpfull for me to try and be of assistance.
