need help determining which brake part to replace

pads replaced
brakes makn rubbing noise-then they stopped makn noise and wont catch good unless im going slow
then the brake light came on and isnt going off

i was told the rotore need to b replaced and possibly the caliper or the master cylinder is the cause of the brake light on the dash stayn lit up and the cause of the brakes not holding unless im going slow

please help
i am a broke single mom and all the mechanic shops down here n southern florida just want to rip u off by replacing everything instead of just what needs to b replaced

please help me
