Sent to Car Experts September 24, 2006 7:36 p.m.

What is wrong when the GMC 1500 Suburban will start and run one day and many days later it does not fire. I wait a few days and then all is OK. the battery is new, the tsarter was replaced 3 years ago as was the alternator. One time the truck's powre was cut-off while I was driving on the highway. ACCEPTED Check Mark

The first item to check here is the battery cables, often they will become slightly loose (especially the two positive cables) and cause a voltage drop. Pull up on the cables, if they pivot on the side terminals of the battery, they'll need to be tightened. Let me know your outcome.

What was the cause for the truck's loss of power on the highway - It completely shut off?

The truck has a 188K miles. A month ago I was driving on the highway and the truck's power was cut-off. After pulling to the side of the road I could not start the truck again. A few days later the mechanic claimed that everything seems OK. What can be wrong?
