Car Trouble

I was recently told I must replace my inner driver side tie rod ends(2000 Dodge Neon). Then I was told by my mechanic it would cost more then 1,500.00 (US). I have tried researching this but have had no luck/ Is his estimate accurate?

Reply to BOBBY's Post: that is what I was told. That only that needed to be replaced. Unfortunately with that being replaced the engine needed to be hoisted up. That was the real reason the price would be high.
